About Us at Sciences of Spirituality

Sciences of Spirituality was created in Haverhill, Massachusetts in 2003 with an idea, a vision to introduce alternative ways of thinking of our day to day living.

I realized the importance of being a non-profit foundation but wasn't even sure where to begin this process, thankfully Congressional District Programs received and approved my application to become a project under their vision of "Empowering people to help people". I had an opportunity to learn about non-profit foundations without all the steps of becoming a 501(c)(3). The result was simplified and our status is a sponsored project.

For four years I solicited and promoted Sciences of Spirituality hoping to generate interest and operating capital, but was introduced to the political world of the non-profit arena. Thousands of like minded individuals raising their hands, jumping up and down to a handful of philanthropists and donor advised sponsors. All these great ideas and visions and yet who you know and who knows you was and is the name of the game.

In the last year the direction now is to create products and services that will generate the means necessary to operate and sustain Sciences of Spirituality for decades. This initiative is underway and is now a self sustaining for-profit business by my ideas, products and services. In a year I will re-visit into the non-profit sector of Sciences of Spirituality.

Sciences of Spirituality continues to grow and evolve as I grow and evolve, with the release of this new design and focused product line I am grateful for it's growth and continued vision. There are so many areas to explore and I'm just getting started after 10 years of research. For now I practice the Art of Fulfillment and Receiving all that I Am willing and able to receive.

Blue and White are my favorite colors, (could you tell?). My gifts are the results of my Greek heritage and my parents Nikolaos and Coula Barakitis. Dad a research and development engineer for GTE Sylvania and Mom a public school music teacher and piano teacher. If I wasn't downstairs helping dad invent a better light bulb I was tickling the ivories on my mom's Steinway baby grand.

I consider myself grateful for the life experiences I shared with my family, the perceptions and opportunities to be involved in so many events. My two sisters Demetria and Tiffany completed the circle of being the younger brother and older brother. Demetria was an incredible gift for me. Thalassemia is not commonly known, but for Mediterranean, African and Asian families who have heard of it, it means someone in the family has it. Thalassemia is a blood disorder that effects the hemoglobin of the red blood cells of the body, so much so that the red blood cells are unable to sustain life and require regular blood transfusions. Thalassemia major is what Demetria was born with and struggled with for 13 years until her death in 1978, I was 10 Tiffany was 9.

The impact of the death of a sibling is by far the most emotionally intense experience I had ever felt, it helped Tiffany and I prepare for the cascading events of loss and grieving to follow. As with any family experiencing such a loss the foundation for the marriage is put to the test, in our case the foundation gave way to my father having an affair, to moving out, to leaving the country. Dad lived in Costa Rica for 17 years with his new wife and two daughters. In 2003 he and his family settled in the United States creating an opportunity for he an I to reconnect as father and son. Six months later my father died of alcoholism. During that six months I had an opportunity to get to know my dad as an adult. 15 years of anger and judgments kept us apart with little or no contact. Again the intensity of losing my father all over again was held in such regard for how precious life is, how important to say what you feel is, to forgive and embrace every relationship as if the Sun may not rise the next day. To give to your fullest potential and receive with grace and gratitude all of which life has to offer you. This became my life and my vision. My vision and my life became Sciences of Spirituality...

There are so many authors of self discovery work that perpetuated this realization. In 1989 I witnessed a man who changed the direction of my life of depression and abuse to inspiration and hope, his name is John Bradshaw. His work, his dedication and talents to create books and videos I AM forever grateful. It is John and his works that inspired me to believe in myself. I hold a dream, a vision of telling him personally to look into his eyes and say thank you for being there when all I saw was darkness and despair. His words, his truth and his experiences illuminated my reality and echoes to this day in my passions and dreams.

The next 10 years I was blessed with spiritual teachers, incredible women who provided me the awareness of the Divine Feminine and Divine Masculine ideology. What an incredible time to be aware that so many people want to help you believe in yourself as unlimited potential. H.U.M.A.N. beings that live, laugh, Love and are fulfilled in every moment in every breath, how wonderful it is to know this reality.

In August of 2007 I married Sona Dostalova, a Czech native who inspires me, embraces me and gracefully offers her wisdom of insight and compassion in ways that I Am in awe and wonderment. A gift from God, a lover, a friend, and a pillar to lean on when at times I am unable to stand by myself. How awesome life is when we are willing to receive.

When we embrace every moment of our lives as opportunities for growth, desires to achieve, achievement of those desires and gratitude for the achievements, this cycle repeats in our lives forever...how cool is that?

Love, Laughter and Abundance
